Einsiedl: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
In Mnichov, Baroque architectural history and historical traces come together. The Baroque Church of St Peter and Paul was built in 1725. The Baroque town hall was constructed in 1730 and features a bell tower, stucco decorations and a pillory.
Culture and history
West of Mnichov, in the valley of the Mnichovský potok, lies the old chapel, which was a pilgrimage site visited by processions from the surrounding area. Near Mnichov, the ruins of the former Church of St John the Baptist, also known as the Siardova Chapel, are freely accessible. The Siardova Chapel was built in the 12th century by the Saxon knight Siardus (Sieghartd); only ruins overgrown with vegetation remain.
Trails
The Siardova kaple–Mnichov nature trail is a 4.5-kilometre circular route with four information boards. It begins in Mnichov on the road above the church and leads, as its final stop, to the former Schöpplův mlýn.
Another circular route is the Mnichovské hadce nature trail: Along the five-kilometre route, five information boards provide information about the local history and the natural features of this part of the Slavkovský les.
Nature
The Siardův pramen, also called Svatá studna, has attracted people since the 17th century because of its healing water. Near Mnichov, the Siardův pramen received a new roof in 2023. In the area around Mnichov, visitors can sample mineral water at Grünská kyselka on the Mnichovské hadce nature trail.
