Wilkowitz: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Wilkowitz (Vlkovice) combines a still recognisable circular village structure with its location in the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. A historic country road from Žandov led through Vlkovice.

History

Vlkovice is one of the old Teplá communities. The village is also specifically connected with railway history: on 17 December 1898, the first two trains of the Carlsbad railway line from both directions crossed paths at the festively decorated station in Vlkovice. The VLKOVICKÝ TUNEL is 240 metres long and is located on the railway ascent from Mariánské Lázně to Vlkovice.

Spring and Landscape

Křovištní kyselka is a mineral spring in Vlkovice that can be reached via a footpath. At the spring, a distinct bubbling of carbon dioxide with numerous bubbles can be observed at the surface.

On the Way

The orange-marked cycle route No. 3 is 21 kilometres long, is recommended for mountain bikes and passes through Vlkovice. Before reaching Vlkovice, it leads through meadows and forests in the southern part of the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. The Úšovice road now serves as a shortcut for cyclists and pedestrians.

Vlkovická rybka was a children's fishing event held at the pond in Vlkovice on 7 September 2024, and at that time it took place for the second time.
