Chodovská Hut: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Chodovská Huť can be discovered through its settlement history and specific local details. The settlement was founded in 1687 as a settlement for the poorest miners from Tři Sekery; it was formerly called “Dolní Šmelctál”.

Local history

The war memorial in Chodovská Huť was erected on 13 September 1925. It is dedicated to the local residents who fought in the First World War from 1914 to 1918. The history of the school is also anchored in the village landscape: the former itinerant school received its own building in 1884, and a school building from 1884 still stands in Chodovská Huť today.

Exploring the village

Regional cycle route no. 2068 reaches Chodovská Huť at a junction with the war memorial. An information board about the village stands at this junction. From Chodovská Huť, the route continues along cycle path no. 36 to nearby Plánská Huť.

Another point along the route is the Jasan pana Šolce ash tree, which lies 500 metres from the cycle route. A bench beneath the ash tree offers a view of the village.

Landscape and location

The Kajetán pond lies in the border forest, through which the Tichá stream flows. Chodovská Huť was the southernmost of the three settlements arranged from north to south: Tachovská, Plánská and Chodovoplánská (now Chodovská).
