Landeck: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Horní otročínský pramen spring has been known and used since at least the 17th century. At a depth of 70 centimetres, it is captured by a hollow tree trunk marked with the year 1819.

Nature

There are a total of five mineral springs in the area of Otročín. Otročín lies in the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area, amid hilly, wooded countryside in the north-western part of the Tepelská vrchovina.

History and culture

The first actual historical mention of Otročín dates from 1233, when the Chapel of Saint Michael and the settlement of Otročín came into the possession of Teplá Monastery. Kostel sv. Michaela is a single-nave Neoclassical church dating from 1838 and is listed in the Czech Republic's state register of immovable cultural monuments. The tower of Kostel sv. Michaela is 34 metres high. The oldest surviving item of furnishing in Kostel sv. Michaela is an ornately decorated baptismal font.

Trails

The Otročínské cesty nature trail begins in the settlement of Otročín. The walking time for the nature trail is stated as one hour; the terrain is considered undemanding.

The Cesta z města 5 cycle route runs via Toužim, Otročín, Teplá, Teplá Monastery, Vidžín and Prachomety before returning to Toužim and is 42 kilometres long in total. The Euroegrensis cycle route also passes through Otročín.

Traditions

Farma Otročín is an organic dairy farm in the Slavkovský les Protected Landscape Area. Traditions maintained by local associations in Otročín include the Otročínské slavnosti festival.
