Staré Buky is home to Kostel sv. Anny, a structure whose history dates back to 1355. A consecration or dedication of the church building, possibly to the Virgin Mary, is mentioned for 1360. The present building was constructed in 1692 by Baron de Waggi, expanded in 1755 by Count Wilibald von Schafgotsch, and received a presbytery in 1802, a lordly crypt in 1804, and a church tower in 1836.

Culture

Kostel sv. Anny is the only registered cultural monument in Staré Buky. Seven gravestones are set into the exterior wall, the oldest of which dates from the 14th century. Anny also features an illusionistically painted tracery window and almost completely preserved medieval trowel plaster with four red concentric circles.

Around 2006/2007, Kostel sv. Anny was transferred into the ownership of the municipality of Staré Buky; preservation work began immediately afterwards. The local history also includes the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk, created in 1715 and re-erected after its restoration at the beginning of the avenue by the Staré Buky municipal office, as well as a two-storey pseudo-Gothic château from the late 19th century near the original site of the manor house. In the park in front of the former school building there is also a monument to the victims of the First World War, created in 1921.
