Hertvikovice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Luční stream rises on the eastern edge of Hertvíkovice, about 150 m from Road No. 14, runs along this road and flows into the Čistá stream. Hertvíkovice lies on a former ore route.

Nature and landscape

The Černá hora mountain is located in the immediate surroundings of Hertvíkovice. The Tetřeví vrch and Jański Wierch mountains are also located nearby. The Karkonosze - Łomniczki waterfall is located in the wider regional area.

History and culture

Hertvíkovice is recorded in 1369 in the register of papal tithes (“Registr papežských desátků”). A document dated 25 September 1455 records an agreement concerning the relationship between Hertvíkovice and Mladé Buky. The history of the village includes agriculture, crafts and later weaving; from the second half of the 19th century, residents also worked in nearby textile mills and paper mills.

The development of home-based industry is also associated with Hertvíkovice: Home weaving of linen and cotton was introduced here around 1676 by Prince Jan Adolf Schwarzenberg, but later declined in importance. In 1753, the linen merchant Z. Kühnel from Hertvíkovice exported 20,000 kop of linen.

The Lázně church is located in the surroundings of Hertvíkovice. The wider regional area includes the Spalona Strażnica ruins, Kreppelhof Castle and Zamek Chojnik Castle.

The section of the Rudník–Mladé Buky cycling route in Hertvíkovice is 2.5 m wide.
