The present-day Church of St. James is part of the town’s history: its foundation stone was laid on 19 June 1748. It originally had a large bell named St. James, dating from 1558. The local chapel was built in 1862, followed by the so-called Masaryk Villa in 1925.

The local gallery was established in 1938 from an art collection donated by the local priest and dean, Jan Selichar. It displays works by well-known academic painters from the early 20th century. The Oldřich Hlavsa Hall in the local gallery was opened to the public on 26 July 1986. Rybenské hudební léto has been held annually since 1999.

Another historical landmark is the reconciliation cross. It stands to the left of the old road from Vamberk to Žamberk, beyond the fork in the road in the forest, and lies along the green-marked hiking trail downhill towards Rybná.
