A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Přepychy into the Dřízeňské Valley. The Dřízeňské Valley has a Way of the Cross with 14 stations; the 14th station is a Holy Sepulchre carved into the rock.

Landscape and Trails

At the “Ve skalách” rest area above Přepychy, there is free parking for up to five vehicles. In the immediate vicinity of Přepychy are Horka Hill (Přepychy u Opočna), Na Kuchyňském Hill (Přepychy u Opočna), and Měle Hill (Mokré). Strýc Mountain lies in the wider regional surroundings of Přepychy.

Culture and History

The underground passage in Přepychy is exceptionally well preserved and probably dates from between the 14th and 16th centuries. It was ceremonially opened to the public for the first time on 11 June 2016.

The basic structure of the Kostel sv. Prokopa church dates from 1574 and has survived to this day, apart from the later Baroque interior and the present-day tower, which was rebuilt about 350 years later.

The Václav bell dates from the mid-16th century and survived the confiscation of bells for weapons production during both world wars. The Panny Marie Chapel was built near a spring in 1889.

Events in Přepychy

The “Přepychy Karla Pšeničného” brass band festival took place on 5 July 2021 as its 11th edition, on 5 July 2025 as its 15th edition, and on 5 July 2026 as its 16th edition. Fishing competitions called “Zlatý karas” are held in Přepychy.
