Vřesník: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The educational trail “In the Footsteps of K. V. Rais” runs through Vřesník. It is used year-round by hikers and cyclists; in winter, cross-country skiers also travel along it.

Culture and history

Valy is located at an altitude of 489 metres on the green-marked hiking trail between Kal and Vřesník. Valy is home to a hillfort and a burial mound field. The Valy archaeological monument provides evidence of the early settlement of this site.

Hrádek is the remains of a medieval fortification. The Lázně Church is located in the wider regional surroundings of Vřesník.

Nature and landscape

The Kalské Valley features wet meadows with rich populations of spring snowflake (Leucojum vernum) and oxlip (Primula elatior). Grey wagtails (Motacilla cinerea), white-throated dippers (Cinclus cinclus) and wrens (Troglodytes troglodytes) breed along the Bystřice.

The Čihadlo hill [Pecka-Bukovina] is located in the immediate vicinity of Vřesník. Mount Maxinec (Mlázovický chlum) and Perna hill [Třebihošť] are located in the vicinity of Vřesník. Mount Tábor is located in the wider regional surroundings of Vřesník. The Byšičky 2 natural monument covers areas in the cadastral area of Vřesník u Tetína.

Cycling route

Vřesník is listed at the 17.7-kilometre mark on the road cycling route “For unforgettable views around Pecka”, a circular route with a total length of 29.5 kilometres.
