Horni Olesnice: Vacation Apartments and Vacation Homes
Horní Olešnice lies in the valley along the upper course of the Kalenský potok, on the former border between German- and Czech-speaking areas. The village is situated between mountain ridges at an elevation of 364 meters above sea level. The alluvial sediments also contain placer deposits of Bohemian garnet.
Landscape
An old post road runs along the northern ridge, offering magnificent views of the Krkonoše Mountains. The mountains of Černá hora and Tetřeví vrch are also located in the vicinity of Horní Olešnice. In the broader surrounding region, Přední Žalý and Zadní Žalý are among the mountains, while Spalona Strażnica is a ruin.
Culture and History
Farmhouse No. 3 in Horní Olešnice is listed among the immovable cultural monuments of the Czech Republic. It is a single-story masonry house with a uniform design, dating from the first half of the 19th century. In the cadastral area of Horní Olešnice, near House No. 16, there is a monument to the victims of the First and Second World Wars.
Horní Olešnice also has a roadside chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary. A statue of Mary, Queen of Heaven, stands near a house, 50 meters from the road in the direction of Dolní Kalná. Lázně is a church in the vicinity of Horní Olešnice.
Cycling Routes and Local Transport
Cycling route 4302 Kunčice–Mostek runs through the cadastral areas of Horní Olešnice and Prostřední Olešnice. The northern part of the municipality is crossed by cycling route 4294 Libštát–Hostinné. The “Horní Olešnice, ObÚ” bus stop belongs to the Horní Olešnice IREDO fare zone (463).
