Zdiby: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Along the banks of the Vltava near Zdiby, an international cycle route from Prague to Dresden is used mainly during the summer months.
Nature
The predominantly wooded western part of Zdiby lies in the Dolní Povltaví Nature Park. In the southwest of the Zdiby municipality, on the Vltava and the Drahanský potok, lies the Kaňon Vltavy u Sedlce natural monument, featuring rock communities as well as drought-loving plants and animals.
Culture and History
The château in Zdiby is registered as a cultural monument under registration number 11451/2-2204. František Maxmilián Hartman z Clarensteinu (1700–1729), who used the epithet “na Zdibech”, is often regarded as the château’s builder. The Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross stands next to the château in Zdiby on Pražská Street and is registered as a cultural monument. It was founded in 1734 together with a cemetery.
Local Life
By prior arrangement, Zdibský Pivovar offers brewery tours with tastings of malt and tank beer. In recent years, local associations have been reviving the historical tradition of Masopust.
