Zbizuby lies in a valley with a stream that flows into the Sázava River. The historical urban structure of small rural settlements has also been preserved in the Zbizuby area.
History and Architectural Heritage
Zbizuby was first mentioned in writing in 1295. At that time, the settlement was a manor house inhabited by the Vladiks Slávek and Jan of Zbizuby.
The Zbizuby Chapel stands along a sunken lane leading to Otryby. The low, plastered building made of rubble stone has a rectangular floor plan. The chapel is a small 19th-century sacred building that contributes to the character of the surrounding landscape.
