Zakopaná: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Příhrazské skály Nature Reserve includes Zakopaná as one of its boundary points. Between Dneboh, Olšina, Mužský, Příhrazy, Zakopaná and Srbsko, the Příhrazské skály form a complex of rock cities with neovolcanic bodies, consisting of 178 towers and peripheral massifs.

Nature and Landscape

In the area of Branžež and Zakopaná, a 2.5-kilometre-long and 3-metre-thick volcanic dyke runs in a WSW–ENE direction. In the municipal area of Branžež, to which Zakopaná belongs, pine forests grow on sandy soil. Numerous sandstone rocks are scattered throughout the surrounding romantic valleys.

Water and Surroundings

Komárovský rybník lies between Branžež, Zakopaná and Srbsko. Its surroundings are one of the centres of tourism and offer opportunities for camping and water sports.

Trails and History

The Zakopaná stop is considered a particularly suitable starting point for an excursion to the Příhrazské skály. A circular route of approximately nine kilometres starts in Zakopaná and leads via a detour to the ruins of Hynšta.

The basalt summit of Mužský offers views of the Krkonoše Mountains. In the vicinity of Zakopaná, a monument on Mužský commemorates a battle fought there in 1866 during the Prussian-Austrian War.
