On the banks of the Klenice, on the southeastern edge of the village, lies the Sukorady fortified site. Archaeological finds show that it already existed in the 14th century.
Culture and History
The statue of Saint Wenceslas stands in a small park on the main road. It was unveiled in 1780 and reconstructed in 1998 and 2010. It is made of yellow, fine-grained sandstone from the Pojizerská region.
The forge in Sukorady is located at house no. 9 on the northeastern edge of the village green. It dates from the first half of the 19th century and is oriented with its eaves side facing the street. The forge is considered a typical example of an architecturally simple rural Neoclassical forge.
Village Character and Activities
Sukorady has a children's playground and a concrete sports court. The Colmex outdoor fitness equipment is freely accessible; it is located in Sukorady in the “Pod topoly” locality near the children's playground.
