Vonoklasy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

A circular route in the form of an educational trail runs through the surroundings of Vonoklasy. The trail runs along the northern edge of Vonoklasy and focuses on the Český kras Protected Landscape Area, nature, and the landscape.

Educational Trail and Routes

The educational trail passes the wooden wayside chapel of P. Marie, dating from 1893. At its southwestern end lies Karasova vyhlídka, a paragliding launch site. Near the northwestern section is Velká skála, which serves as a viewpoint. Five hiking routes meet at the Na návsi signpost in Vonoklasy.

Nature

Vonoklasy preserves ecosystems comprising deciduous forests, forest-steppe and steppe formations, as well as scree slopes with numerous protected plant and animal species. The former Ve skále quarry features an outcrop with folds between the Silurian and Devonian periods, as well as a relatively rich fossil fauna, particularly trilobites and bivalves. The pedunculate oak protected as a natural monument is estimated to be around 600 years old. At U louže, communities of aquatic plants and animals have survived around a small body of water.

Culture and History

The first written mention of Vonoklasy dates from 1227. The village square is home to the Neo-Gothic Chapel of St. Wenceslas, dating from 1887, with a bell tower. The former Baroque farmstead No. 12 is the only cultural monument in Vonoklasy. It comprises a residential building with a log-built core, a backdrop gate, and a freestanding wooden granary on a stone base. The preserved wooden building of the former farmstead served as a granary from the beginning of the 19th century.
