Culture

The core of the Church of the Holy Spirit dates back to the first half of the 14th century, as indicated by a walled-up Gothic portal in the northern wall of the nave. The owner of Trnová, Františka Terezie Minetti, née Fritschmannová z Ehrenkronu, had the Church of the Holy Spirit restored in 1720. The tombstone of the restorer of the Church of the Holy Spirit has been preserved in the nave floor to this day.

The Chateau Trnová building was declared a national cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic in 1994.

Active pursuits

The Trnová Equestrian Complex has indoor riding arenas measuring 20 × 50 m and 25 × 65 m, as well as a round arena with a diameter of 18 m. School ponies and horses are available for rides in the Cukrák area and the Brdy forests; riding lessons are also offered up to the ZZVJ riding licence examination.

The area around the Trnová Equestrian Complex is ideal for relaxing rides through the forests, woodlands and meadows of the Vltava landscape. A cycling tour leads through the village of Trnová and then onto the Mníšecko-Č cycling route.

Nature

As part of the revitalisation of the pod krčmou biotope completed in 2021, the adjacent pond was also repaired and cleaned.

Getting around

Bus route 318 runs from the Prague stops Praha–Lihovar or Smíchovské nádraží to the stops “Trnová – Domov Borová” and “Trnová”.

The “Dětské hřiště” children’s leisure area in Trnová is intended for children aged 3 to 14. The municipality maintains a page titled “Cyklotrasy Mníšecko” with a section called “Cyklotrasy Trnová”.
