Trhové Dušníky: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The medieval and modern-era center of Trhové Dušníky is designated as a significant archaeological site and lies on the left bank of the Litavka, at its confluence with the Příbramský potok.

Culture and Local History

The local fortress of Trhové Dušníky was first documented in 1581. The Chapel of the Holy Trinity has an atypical centrally arranged floor plan with a short hexagonal nave. It was probably created by remodeling an early Baroque castle chapel from the 17th century. The chapel stands southeast of the village green and the former castle, on the edge of a flat, low-lying grassy terrace that slopes down via a short incline farther southeast toward two ponds.

The protected section of the Dědičná štola císaře Josefa II. runs as an underground passage from the Ševčiny mine to its outlet area near Trhové Dušníky. The ruins of Zřícenina Valdek and the Church of Svatá Anna are also located in the surrounding area.

Nature and Landscape

Due to their morphology and formation, the bends of the Litavka in the area of Trhové Dušníky and downstream correspond more closely to a laterally displaced riverbed than to classic meandering. Such lateral instability of a riverbed is rare in the Czech Republic.

The mountains of Velká Třemošná, Velký Chlum, Kuchyňka and Hejlák are located around Trhové Dušníky.

Trails and Events

The Fabiánova naučná stezka educational trail passes through Trhové Dušníky and is intended for tourists and cyclists. The Dušnická šlápota event took place in 2023, 2024 and 2026.
