Koupě: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
History and culture
Koupě Fortress is a Gothic fortified building located in a farmyard. It was probably built in the second half of the 15th century or at the beginning of the 16th century. Koupě was first mentioned in writing in 1367; at that time, Jindřich z Koupí was staying there.
Koupě Fortress is closed to the public. An old linden tree stands at house number 34 and is protected by the heritage conservation authorities.
Near Koupě lies the historic site of Lety u Písku: the Memorial to the Holocaust of the Roma and Sinti in Bohemia.
Nature
The Dražská Koupě protected area is home to a population of fire-bellied toads (Bombina bombina). The species is specially protected and critically endangered.
The Vinice and Štěrbina mountains lie near Koupě.
In the wider regional surroundings of Koupě lie the Nad Moráskem and Praha mountains. The Hrad Zvíkov Castle, the Valdek Castle Ruins and the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast, listed as a ruin, are also located in this wider regional area.
