The history of Tisem is closely linked to the church in Chvojen and Kožlí Castle. The ruins of Kožlí Castle are located in the cadastral area of Tisem, on a rocky promontory above the confluence of the Tisem Stream and the Janovický Stream.

Culture and History

Kožlí Castle dates back to the 14th century and was first documented in 1318. The protected grounds of Kožlí Castle include the castle core, the outer bailey, a chapel, and the plots of land within the grounds.

The access route to Kožlí Castle leads through the outer bailey. The castle core is separated by a ditch carved into the rock and was accessible through a square gate.

Nature

The quarry near Tisem is considered a well-known and frequently visited natural attraction.

Activities

A cycling route runs through Tisem, leading from Neveklov via Tisem to the ruins of Kožlí Castle. Horse competitions called Hubertova jízda are held in Tisem every year; the Tisem Cup football tournament also takes place there annually.
