Ratměřice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Ratměřice showcases a multifaceted local history within a compact area: the château combines Baroque origins with a Neo-Renaissance design that has been preserved to this day, while the château park stands out with exceptionally large sequoias and a diverse collection of trees and shrubs.

Culture and History

Ratměřice Château was built in the Baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. Otto Chotek remodelled the château into its Neo-Renaissance form, which has been preserved to this day. Visitors can admire the distinctive Neoclassical façade and stroll through the extensive château park.

The Church of St Havel also preserves remarkable traces of its building history. During restoration surveys in 2008, Gothic paintings were uncovered in the chancel. A dendrochronological study dated the origin of the roof structure to 1406. The water from the spring in Ratměřice was traditionally believed to have healing properties.

Château Park and Trees

Two sequoias planted by Count Chotek grow in Ratměřice Château Park. The park is also home to 29 conifer species and 60 species of deciduous trees or shrubs.

The sequoias are over 45 m tall and are estimated to be around 150 years old. They are considered the largest in the Czech Republic.

Paths and Views

The Běhej bojiště Jankov–Zvěstovská route passes through Ratměřice to Dům sedláka Oneše by Jordánek Pond. There are benches for resting both by the pond and at the house.

Another route in the vicinity of Ratměřice leads from the Monument to the Battle of Jankov along an unpaved track that climbs gently uphill and offers views of Ratměřice and its château.

Sport and Play

The sports complex in Ratměřice includes a football pitch and a natural-style children's playground.
