Nature
Medník is a protected regional biocentre and has been a national nature monument since 1933.
Medník is considered the only site in the Czech Republic where the dogtooth violet (Kandík psí zub) is found.
Pikovická jehla is a distinctive, widely visible tower-shaped rock with a cross on its summit, located on the right bank of the Sázava below the railway line. Its valley wall is 45 m high; it is complemented by a short upper northern wall.
The deeply incised valley of the Sázava near Pikovice is predominantly covered with spruce forests, with fir, oak and scree forests in places.
The section of the Sázava between Pikovice and Žampach is known as the “Golden Canyon”. The name was coined by the tramp and writer Bob Hurikán, inspired by the beauty of the landscape.

The Posázavská Trail is 11 km long and classified as moderately difficult.
At the “Dvě pamětní desky v Pikovicích” memorial, two commemorative plaques are set into the rock along the red-marked trail at the beginning of the Posázavská Trail.
The Týnec nad Sázavou–Pikovice section is listed as 16.5 km long, with a difficulty rating of ZW–WWII.
Culture
Every year in September, a country festival is held at the campsite by the river in Pikovice, commemorating the area’s rich tramp history.
