Ouběnice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Church of St. Margaret in Ouběnice has a Romanesque nave and a tower dating from the end of the 12th century. In the 14th century, it was extended with a chancel, and in 1759 it was given its Baroque appearance.

History and Remembrance

The hillfort near Ouběnice is situated on a partially wooded hill with two summits above the right bank of the Kocába stream, approximately 1 kilometre southwest of Ouběnice and 0.5 kilometres west of the settlement of Chaloupky. Near Ouběnice lies a presumably multi-part hillfort complex with a presumed acropolis on the northern summit, surrounded by a rampart; the age of the hillfort is currently unknown.

A pilgrimage mass is held once a year in the chapel in Ouběnice. The Ouběnice pilgrimage in July commemorates the victims of the Heydrich terror from Ouběnice and the surrounding area.

The remains of the Podolský, Pytlíkův, Čermákův mlýn mill stand on the outskirts of Ouběnice. The site of the remains is freely accessible, but it can only be reached via the path to the Kocába.

Trails and Landscape

The surroundings of Ouběnice include forests, streams and ponds suitable for active and passive recreation. Ouběnice and its surroundings are suitable for recreational cycling, although no marked cycle routes pass through the municipality.

The marked hiking trail follows existing farm tracks and forest paths, and occasionally roads. A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Chaloupky and takes visitors interested in exploring the sights in the immediate surroundings. The Skalice–Višňová blue-marked hiking trail runs through the Ouběnice area.

There is a rest area beside the pond in Ouběnice, which passing visitors can use during their trips.

Events and Bodies of Water

Since 2006, the Automotoklub Ouběnice – Bikers Village has organised national and international motorcycle trial competitions, and since 2014 also bike trial competitions. The best-known events in Ouběnice include the Motoorání motorcycle rally and trial competitions.

At the Ouběnický trial held on the former motocross track in Ouběnice on 24 and 25 August 2013, one lap was 1.5 kilometres long.

The Kocába 1 A fishing district includes the 0.9-hectare Splavěcí body of water in the cadastral territory of Ouběnice.
