Nová Ves U Bakova: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Cycle Route No. 241 runs through Nová Ves u Bakova. Nová Ves u Bakova is also part of the Pojizerské cycle route network. Near Nová Ves u Bakova, the tourist route “To the Ruins Along the Jizera River” is connected to a signpost and follows Route 241 there.

History and Remembrance

Nová Ves u Bakova was founded in the second half of the 16th century by the Lords of Zvířetice. In 1908, Eduard Štorch and Karel Sellner found a flint blade from the Early Stone Age in the cadastral area of Nová Ves u Bakova. Seven urn fields dating from the Late Bronze Age were also discovered there.

A memorial plaque to Alois Štorch is located on the gable of a family house at Nová Ves u Bakova 38. It states that he was executed by Austrian executioners in Riva on 5 July 1918.

Nature

The Lovotín forest, with the Zlodějka Cave, is located in the cadastral area of Nová Ves u Bakova. According to local tradition, the well-known robber Václav Babinský stayed there. Rečkov is home to the largest population of Siberian ligularia (Ligularia sibirica) in the Czech Republic. The Rečkov area comprises transitional mires and quaking bogs, as well as base-rich fens.
