Jizerní Vtelno: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Jizerní Vtelno is located 10 km from the statutory city of Mladá Boleslav in the direction of Mělník. Stránov Castle acquired its present romantic appearance through a Neo-Gothic reconstruction carried out from 1890 to 1894. The castle was opened to the public for the first time in its history in 2004.
Culture and History
A basic tour of Stránov Castle includes a hall with a Gothic chapel, collections of butterflies and beetles, collections of historic prams and dolls, reconstructed interiors with replicas of historic furniture, and the viewing point in the Gothic tower.
The Church of St Wenceslas in the courtyard of Stránov Castle was built in 1767 and designed by the prominent Prague architect Filip Heger. The church houses a permanent exhibition of paintings by Aleš Krejča; it is open during the castle's opening hours.
