The educational trail Po stopách víly Netřebky leads through Netřebice and the surrounding area. It was established in 2014.

Nature and Trails

A historical landscape feature is Rybník Blato: its main dam was located on the road between Kouty and Netřebice. In the wider regional surroundings of Netřebice was the historic Rybník Blato, which, at 996 hectares, was the largest historical pond in Bohemia and belonged to the pond system in the Poděbrady and Nymburk area.

Culture

The bell tower in Netřebice is a two-storey masonry structure with a bell-shaped roof and a lantern and probably dates from the middle of the 19th century. Its façades and roof were restored in 2012. Netřebice is also home to a small, recently renovated Chapel of the Virgin Mary.

East of the village square in Netřebice stands the gate of Farmstead No. 7. It is a late Baroque gate from the middle of the 19th century.

History

Netřebice is one of the oldest settlements in the Nymburk region and was founded in the 11th or 12th century. In 1185, the village belonged to the Knights of the Cross of St. Mary. In the 16th century, Netřebice was owned by Poděbrady Castle. According to tradition, Alžběta, the wife of Prince Fridrich, gave Netřebice to the Knights Hospitaller in 1186.

Getting There

Netřebice has no railway connection; the nearest railway station is in Dymokury.
