Hospozín: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

In Hospozín, dated religious buildings, historic farm buildings and a clearly defined water landscape come together. The Church of the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist was built in 1595 on the site of an older building and is located in an area with archaeological finds.

Culture

The Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk has a stone portal bearing the coat of arms of Anna Polyxena z Clary a Adringen and the year 1711. A niche chapel with a statue of the same saint takes the form of a richly decorated volute column with a niche containing the statue; it can be dated to shortly after 1750. The unusual sandstone group of Saints Peter and Paul is also part of the village landscape; its pedestal bears the year 1776 on the front. The stone cross in Hospozín is a high-quality example of late Rococo craftsmanship.

Historic Buildings

The grounds of the agricultural estate contain a manor house built after 1836. The two-storey rectangular building is privately owned, used for residential purposes and not accessible.

The early Baroque granary in Hospozín is a two-storey building with a rectangular floor plan and a hipped roof; its original carpentry structure has been preserved. The façades feature inscribed cartouches bearing the year 1673, while the year 1709 is carved into the door. Above the main entrance is a richly decorated supraporte bearing the coat of arms of the owners of the estate, the Kinský family.

A granary in Hospozín is a two-storey stone building with a rectangular floor plan and a gabled roof. It was built as a Baroque replacement building in the second half of the 18th century. The red chimney with a white stripe belonging to the former sugar factory is also considered a landmark of Hospozín.

Water and Leisure

The Vranský stream, with a designated flood zone, flows into the local pond and then continues through the centre of Hospozín towards Černuc.

The tennis courts in Hospozín are open from 4 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends and public holidays. Bookings must be made two days in advance for weekdays and by Friday at the latest for weekends.

Connections

Buses operated by ICOM run in Hospozín towards Velvary and Slaný. Kmetiněves railway station is about half a kilometre from Hospozín and is located on the Roudnice nad Labem–Zlonice railway line; Hospozín can be reached from there by train or bus.
