Townscape and Culture

The Baroque Church of St. Catherine was built between 1759 and 1760. Its tower was added in 1832. The interior features sculptures from the workshop of Martin Ignác Jelínek, created between 1750 and 1770.

Dolní Bousov Town Hall is an architecturally remarkable Empire-style building dating from 1861. In the middle of T. G. Masaryk Square stands a Baroque Marian column from the 18th century, surrounded by four old lime trees.

The Dolní Bousov Tourist Information Centre is located in a historic former vicarage in the immediate vicinity of the town square. It offers information and promotional materials, souvenirs, maps, postcards and exhibitions.

Nature and Educational Trails

The “Okolo Klenice za hrou a poučením” educational trail is a 10-kilometre circular route that starts and ends at the swimming pool in Dolní Bousov. Along the route, 13 information boards provide information about the history and present-day character of the places visited.

The four-kilometre circular route “Městem Dolním Bousovem” starts and ends at the railway station and is signposted in one direction. Eight information boards provide information about local history and nature; the educational trail also includes a popular game for children.

The “Za lesním tichem” educational trail starts at Pískovák Pond and returns to Dolní Bousov after just under 13 kilometres, in the area of the swimming pool.

The “Krajinou Červenského rybníka” educational trail is a 3.5-kilometre circular route that starts and ends at Tovární Pond in Dolní Bousov. Several wooden footbridges form part of the route. Information is provided on boards at seven stations.
