In Ctiboř, the Hrádek complex with the Church of St. Matthew is listed as an immovable cultural monument and tourist destination. The church was declared a pilgrimage site of the Archdiocese of Prague on 25 April 2008.

Pilgrimage

The Hrádek pilgrimages take place on the first three Sundays in July; the most famous is the second one.

Culture

The Church of St. Matthew in Hrádek dates from the first half of the 13th century. The Hrádek complex includes a cemetery wall with a statue of Saint Wenceslas. The church also contains a painting of the Evangelist Matthew by the famous Baroque master Petr Brandl.

Landscape

The Hrádek complex is situated on the banks of the Blanice. Near Hrádek, the much-visited Mariánská studánka spring is located in the forest. The present-day chapel at Mariánská studánka was designed and built in 1904 by Jindřich Neubauer, a native of Vlašim.

Cycling Connections

Cycle Route No. 101 connects Český Šternberk, Ctiboř, Vlašim and Louňovice pod Blaníkem. Route No. 8175 connects Vlašim, Hrádek, Ctiboř and Nad Domašínem, then leads back to Vlašim.

The forest section between Vlašim and Hrádek, which is quite challenging for ordinary cyclists, can be replaced by Road Cycling Route No. 101 via Ctiboř.
