Babice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Babice lies southeast of Prague at the entrance to the deep Černokostelecké and Jevany forests. The combination of local history, woodland landscapes, signposted trails and several sports facilities shapes the character of the town.

Sports and Play

The Sportovní areál Babice is located on Topolová Street next to the kindergarten. The complex includes a 29 × 18 metre multifunctional artificial-turf pitch for various ball sports, including tennis. There is also a 100 × 58 metre grass field equipped for football and rugby.

The Babice lesopark next to the kindergarten offers children play equipment in a woodland setting. The Cyklohřiště, a pump track with two circuits, is also located in the lesopark near the kindergarten: one for younger children with balance bikes, small bicycles or off-road scooters, and one for more experienced bikers and larger bicycles. There is also a technical zone for practising riding skills.

Cycling and Hiking Trails

Cycle route 0031 runs from Babice via Strašín and Svojetice towards Voděradské bučiny. Cycle route 8206 leads from Babice via Doubek and Mrzky to Zahrady u Českého Brodu. Cycle route 1A connects Babice with Žernovka; in addition, a Class 1 cycling route of the KČT runs between Prague and Brno.

Signposted hiking routes also pass through the town: a red-marked hiking trail connects Babice with Třebohostice and Strašín, while a yellow-marked hiking trail connects Babice with Doubek and Mukařov.

History and Townscape

Babice was probably established in the 13th century; the first written record dates from 1381. In the 1920s, Babice developed into an important resort for Prague's lower and middle classes, who built holiday homes there. A resort hotel on the village square became a landmark of Babice.

Events

The Babický trail 1/4 maraton took place on 7 June 2026, starting at the Sportovní areál Babice, and included races over 10.55 km, 5.95 km, 1,500 m, 1,000 m and 300 m. The main race of the Babický trail 1/4 maraton runs through the Babický forest. The Babický trail 1/4 maraton is scheduled for 30 May 2027.
