Čisovice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Bojovský stream flows through Čisovice, forming a romantic valley bordered by the Dešiny forest. At the same time, the area around Čisovice is considered a paradise for mushroom and bilberry enthusiasts.

Culture and History

The Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was built in 1854 in the upper part of Čisovice. The village was first mentioned in a deed of donation dating from 1037. Historically, both basket weaving and the production of birch brooms were among the local occupations in Čisovice.

The Bojovský stream is also connected with the history of the village: Historical references from the 14th century suggest that gold panning took place in the area around the stream. Later, the railway connection between Prague and Dobříš contributed to the rise of tramping in the valley of the Bojovský stream.

Getting Around and Events

There is a local bus stop near Čisovice railway station. The red cycle route 8130 Mníšecko also runs through Čisovice; the “From the Ridges to the Vltava and Kocába” cycle route passes through the village as well.

A regular fixture in the local calendar is the traditional singing of Christmas carols in the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary on 24 December at 10 p.m. The 9th ČISOKROSS was scheduled for Sunday, 29 September 2024, at 10 a.m. in a meadow behind the football pitch in Čisovice.
