Solopysky lies in the Švarcava valley and on a short, unnamed tributary on the left bank. At the same time, the locality belongs to Zone II of the Český kras Protected Landscape Area. Between the river, protected habitats and the historically developed townscape, several different aspects of the landscape come together here.
Nature and Landscape
Seven amphibian species live in the Kulivá hora protected area, including the fire salamander (Salamandr salamandr) and the agile frog (Rana dalmatina). Along the Švarcava stream, a narrow mosaic strip of ash-alder floodplain forests and riparian vegetation of flowing waters extends through the area. The protected area also includes calcareous scree slopes of the hill country and montane zone, ravine and slope forests of the Tilio-Acerion alliance, Pannonian downy oak forests, Pannonian rocky grasslands and oak-hornbeam forests of the Galio-Carpinetum association.
In the vicinity of Solopysky are Babka Hill [Černošice] and Hradinovský kopec Hill [Vonoklasy]. Doutnáč is a mountain in the surrounding area, while Veslařský ostrov is an island nearby.
Hiking
A red-marked hiking trail leads from Vonoklasy to Solopysky and from there onwards towards Radotín and Zbraslav.
History and Townscape
Solopysky was first mentioned in 1305. Zbraslav Monastery acquired Solopysky in 1630; even after the monastery was dissolved in 1785, the locality remained part of the Zbraslav estate until the end of serfdom.
The older part of Solopysky lies near the confluence and above the right bank of the Švarcava; a through road runs there. It consists of single-storey, longitudinally oriented farmsteads.
Culture
Karlštejn is a castle in the vicinity of Solopysky. In the wider regional area are Letohrátek královny Anny, a chateau, Galerie Rudolfinum, a museum, and Palác Kinských, a palace.
