A fortress in Čachovice was the seat of the nobleman Bedřich in 1297. This early historical reference leads to a place where local history, spiritual life and the landscape meet within a closely interconnected thematic setting.

History and Culture

In 1595, the fortress in Čachovice was made of wood. The Sbor J.A. Komenského Church in Čachovice was opened in 1936. Services are regularly held at 11 a.m. in the Sbor J. A. Komenského every other Sunday as well as on church holidays. A bell, including an electric mechanism, was installed at the chapel in Čachovice on 16 September 2013. The wall of the Husův sbor in Čachovice also serves as a columbarium.

Nature and Landscape

The Polní rybník Struhy pond near Čachovice encompasses a biocentre with many animal and plant species. Its water surface covers more than 3.3 hectares; sport fishing has been practised there since 2016. In the immediate vicinity of Čachovice are Hlavnov Hill [Vlkava], Na Vrchu Hill [Smilovice u Luštěnic], Kateřina Hill [Milovice nad Labem] and the hill (Tuzarovsko) [Loučeň-Patřín].

Routes

The Dražická cycle path No. 0038 runs through Čachovice, Vlkava, Struhy, the turn-off to Lipník and Dražice. A stop for scheduled buses is located near Čachovice railway station.
