Polinyà De Xúquer: Culture, Magic and Architectural History
Culture and Architectural History
The Casa del Lloc de Sinyent was protected by Decree 15/2018 as an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Monument category. As a civil Gothic building, it has a 14th-century loggia. One of the defining buildings in the complex originated in the early 14th century.
The Iglesia Parroquial de la Santa Cena de Nuestro Señor was built between 1720 and 1743. It combines Baroque elegance with Neoclassical elements in a single-nave space decorated with murals and Valencian tiles from the 18th century. Two portals are dedicated to the Eucharist and Saint Sebastian; there is also a large altarpiece depicting the Last Supper and a three-part bell tower.
The Ermita de Sant Sebastià is a small rectangular chapel from the 16th century with a pointed barrel vault. The restored public washhouse is located on the edge of Polinyà de Xúquer’s town centre. La Casota is an agricultural building from the mid-18th century, designed as a country house. Those wishing to compare architectural styles can distinguish between sacred, civil and agricultural forms of construction here.
The former mill of the Barony of Corbera has an original structure dating from the 14th century. Today, it preserves only the millstones and the entire network of channels and water conduits leading to the mill.

The route running through Polinyà de Xúquer is slightly more than 16 kilometres long and can be completed on foot or by bicycle.
The destinations mentioned differ significantly in form: sacred and civil buildings stand alongside an agricultural building and a former mill. The museum combines historical pieces with interactive installations, while the Ruta dels Assuts can be completed on foot or by bicycle as a 16-kilometre route. The Festes d’Agost and the Ullals de la Font are also among the highlights mentioned.
Polinyà de Xúquer’s festival calendar centres largely on the Festes d’Agost. The Ullals de la Font are among the touristically interesting places in Polinyà de Xúquer.
