Discover Los Cojos: Wine, Nature and Holiday Apartment
In Los Cojos, a visit to Bodegas del Valle takes you into the vineyards: there, you can visit plots with native grape varieties whose vines are over 90 years old. Bodegas del Valle also preserves an old wine cellar built in 1941, with its original structure and machinery. The visit ends with a tasting of three wines and olive oil, accompanied by some regional cuisine.
Wine and Winery Culture
Bodegas Haya is a fifth-generation family winery in Los Cojos and has its own organic vineyards, as well as a century-old, ungrafted Bobal vine that survived phylloxera. In Los Cojos, the winery organizes visits to the fields and winery by prior arrangement, led by a family member. These include tastings of its wines, cava and vermouth straight from the barrel.
The two winery visits focus on different aspects of wine: Bodegas del Valle focuses on the old vines, the historic cellar and the combination of wines, olive oil and regional cuisine. Bodegas Haya, by contrast, combines the fifth generation of the family winery with organic vineyards, the ungrafted Bobal vine and tastings of wine, cava and barrel-aged vermouth. For wine enthusiasts, the selection therefore ranges from cellar and vineyard history to a family-run winery offering several of its own drinks. When making your personal plans, you can consider the different focuses independently and give them weight according to your own interests and the time available.
