Carnival and Festival Traditions

The carnival of Villar del Arzobispo is recognised as a “Fiesta de Interés Turístico Autonómico”. During carnival, a large papier-mâché figure of a Morca is symbolically guarded. During the Morca watch, music and dancing in the streets are part of the carnival.

On the following day, the Botargas parade through the town and invite the people they encounter to dance. The carnival also includes a Murga competition featuring satirical songs about the town, its residents and current topics.

Viña Villar Tinto Crianza is a red Crianza wine with the DOP Valencia designation of origin, produced by Bodegas El Villar in Villar del Arzobispo. Olla churra is a notable local stew with meat and vegetables.
