The El Pilar brickworks is also known in Paiporta as El Rajolar de Bauset and began operating in mid-1924.
History and Culture
When Paiporta Town Council acquired the Rajolar site in December 1994, only the main hall and the chimney remained of the original complex.
The Auditori de Paiporta has a main hall with 472 seats and a conference hall with 125 seats. The “Chalet de Catalá” has a public garden and was originally attached to Rafael Catalá’s silk-weaving mill.
Church and Festival Traditions
Sant Jordi Church was inaugurated on 10 August 1754 and is designated as a site of local cultural significance. One of the church’s chapels was painted by Salvador Montesa Manzano, a member of the Parpalló group. Sant Jordi Church is dedicated to Sant Jordi; San Roque, the municipality’s patron saint, occupies a prominent place inside the church.
The 2025 Festes de Sant Roc combined live music, popular culture, children’s activities, sport, and religious and festive traditions. The programme included the Dansà de Sant Roc, a Correfoc, the Festa del Melonet, the Cavalcada de Sant Roc and the Cremà del Gos.
Local Cuisine
Paiporta’s traditional bread selection included the Pataca, or Pataqueta, and the Rollo. Guisao de San Roc is prepared with chicken, rabbit and meatballs. Its sauce contains onions, tomatoes, garlic, parsley, chopped almonds and cognac, and is seasoned with red pepper.
You can give different weight to these topics when planning your own visit: historical sites, ecclesiastical art, event venues, festival traditions and local cuisine each add a different emphasis. There is no need to follow a fixed order; you can arrange the highlights according to your interests and daily rhythm. Those travelling with different preferences can distribute these emphases deliberately instead of giving all topics equal weight.
When comparing holiday apartments in Paiporta, first check your travel dates, room category and cancellation conditions on the listing page. These details make it possible to compare different offers objectively side by side. The three fields provide a straightforward basis for the next comparison. For accommodation in Paiporta, these details can initially be read as three separate points of comparison: the travel dates define the period under consideration, the room category narrows down the type of offer, and the cancellation conditions make different policies visible. This keeps the accommodation comparison limited to and traceable through the information stated for each individual offer.
