Nature and Trails

The Serra del Puig has been designated a municipal natural area since 2016. The natural area is promoted for hiking, educational and interpretive routes, as well as various active tourism activities for responsible leisure.

The Serra del Puig natural area includes the Iberian settlement of Puig de la Misericordia and the local Redona de l’Ermita hiking trail. This hiking trail offers views of Vinaròs, the Mediterranean Sea and the plain from Montsià to Peñíscola.

Culture, Buildings and Festivals

The Carnaval de Vinaròs has been celebrated since the 14th century and has held the status of a festival of tourist interest of the Valencian Community since 2007.

The Iglesia Fortaleza Arciprestal de la Asunción is a national historic monument. From the outside, it displays a military character and the design of a Mediterranean fortified church. Casa Membrillera is an 18th-century Renaissance house and houses permanent exhibitions on agriculture, trade, industry and fishing in Vinaròs.

The Ermita de San Gregorio is an 18th-century Baroque hermitage. Its architectural design was created by the monk and architect Pere Gonell, who came from Vinaròs. Casa Giner is a Valencian Modernisme building constructed in 1914, with an elliptical corner oriel facing Plaza Parroquial.

La capilla de Santa Victoria is an 18th-century Baroque chapel attached to the church of the San Telmo monastery. During its restoration in 2019, 18th-century perspective trompe-l’œil paintings were discovered.

The Santuario de la Misericordia complex is classified as a locally significant cultural asset in the category of a local monument of interest. The bullring of Vinaròs is considered the bullring closest to the sea on the entire peninsula.
