Culture and Townscape
The parish church of San Román was built in the late 16th century. Its main altarpiece is dedicated to Saint Román and is attributed to Miguel de Casanova y Aibar.
The Gothic Ermita de Santa María Magdalena stands on the outskirts of the town. The old mill of Ezcároz/Ezkaroze was built in 1767 and still has its machinery.
The Palacio de Iturriria is one of the palaces listed as “cabo de armería” in the official list of the Kingdom of Navarre. The current dam was built in 1907 after a severe flood destroyed the wooden dam.
Hiking and Trails
The Sendero de Jasule circular hiking trail begins at the church of Ezcároz/Ezkaroze. It is 5.4 km long, has an elevation gain of 250 metres, leads to the Jasule waterfalls and passes the Ezcároz/Ezkaroze viewpoint with a panoramic information board.
A hiking trail near Ezcároz/Ezkaroze leads to the “bordales”, a traditional agricultural system consisting of a Borda and the adjoining fields on the mountain slopes. The trail to the “bordales” begins at the church of Ezcároz/Ezkaroze and leads from there to the town cemetery.

Festivals and Summer
The patron saint festivities of Ezcároz/Ezkaroze take place from 16 to 20 July in honour of the Virgen del Carmen.
In autumn, the Fiesta de Otoño brings together gastronomy, culture and entertainment. It includes a migas competition, children’s workshops and traditional dance performances.
During the autumn festival, mushrooms are sought and collected in the nearby mountains; edible and poisonous species are distinguished, and the edible mushrooms are tasted.
In summer, Ezcároz/Ezkaroze has a prepared river bathing area.
