The Semana Santa de Torrejón de Ardoz was recognised as a festival of regional tourist interest on 13 March 2014. Its history goes back further: In the 16th century, the Cofradía de la Bula del Santísimo Sacramento was already organising Semana Santa processions in Torrejón de Ardoz, and the celebration became more firmly established in the 18th century. One of the prominent floats is “El Calvario”, featuring images of Christ and La Dolorosa, dated to the 16th or 17th century.

The Comparsa de Gigantes y Cabezudos de Torrejón de Ardoz currently consists of 7 giants, 5 bigheads and a banner connected to the town’s history.
