Serón de Nágima: Holiday Apartment Among Castles, Churches and History

The Iglesia de la Santa Cruz preserves a plain semicircular apse and a section of the presbytery. Together with the castle, these buildings form a clearly distinguishable ensemble of religious architecture, military architecture and historic square development. Their form, period and function provide different approaches to the town's history.

History

The history of Serón de Nágima is also shaped by changing rulers. The town was occupied by Muslims for four centuries and was reconquered in 1125. These details mark two important milestones in its medieval past and connect its historical development with the buildings that can still be seen today.

Routes and Getting There

The Monteagudo–Serón de Nágima section of the GR-86 follows the Río Nágima valley upstream. Its connection between Monteagudo and Serón de Nágima, as well as its route along the river valley, gives the section a clear geographical orientation. In addition to the historic buildings, the area around the town has a distinct hiking theme.

From Soria, the route follows the N-234 and then the SO-340 via Almenar de Soria to Serón de Nágima.
