Village Character and History

The history of the village dates back to the year 853: Brimeda was resettled around this time and was a traditional fief of the diocese. The village's early history also included an early monastery dedicated to Saint Martin. Iron mining in Brimeda was mentioned as early as the 12th century; a small iron mine was located in Coto Los Llanos.

A walk through the quiet streets leads to old stone houses with galleries featuring balustrades. There are also old doors with handcrafted iron fittings and cat flaps. Churches

Mining remains are visible at the exit from Brimeda on the road to Bonillos, Requejo and the „blue villages“.
