On the outskirts of Narros de Saldueña, in the La Moraña plain, stands the Castillo del Duque de Montellano. The Castillo began as a simple defensive tower, erected by Rodrigo de Valderrábano at the end of the 15th century. As a castle-palace made of rammed earth with brick reinforcements, it is associated with Mudéjar architecture. Its rectangular layout includes a four-storey keep with a curved gallery to protect the guard.

The Iglesia de San Martín Obispo is a 16th-century building that developed from a smaller 13th-century Mudéjar church. Inside, pointed-arch arcades rest on pillars. It has a wooden artesonado ceiling described as being of particular value.

Together, the castle and church reveal different historical and architectural layers of the place. At the castle, the defensive tower, castle-palace, rammed earth, brick reinforcements and Mudéjar connection can be traced in a single building.
