Mediana De Voltoya: Nature, Night Sky and History

Culture

The parish church of Mediana de Voltoya is entered through a Romanesque portal. This portal is accessible from a small porch located on the south side. The church building has a square-ended chancel, a single-nave layout and a bell gable at the end of the building.

The Baroque high altar is the central feature of the furnishings. It dates from the 18th century and is a joint work by Bernardo Rivilla and Antonio de la Cruz. Another historical trace is the prehistoric burial mound of Los Tiesos near Mediana de Voltoya.
