Paxariñas: Beach, Coastal Path and Holiday Apartment
Coast
Paxariñas combines its own beach with distinctive coastal formations. On the left side, cliffs protect the beach, while the right side is accessible via steps leading to a small viewpoint.
Behind Paxariñas Beach there is a small beach bar. Water sports equipment is also rented out at Paxariñas Beach. The place thus combines visible coastal features with an opportunity to enjoy an active stay by the water.
The two sides of the beach are described differently: on the left, protective cliffs define the shoreline, while on the right, steps lead to a small viewpoint. Behind the beach is the small beach bar, while water sports equipment is rented out directly on the beach.
Nature
The Paxariñas–Montalvo coastal path passes through a landscape described in relation to the mouth of the Ría de Pontevedra. Views of this estuary open up along the route, so the path is defined not only by its two endpoints but also by the view of the water.
The Paxariñas–Montalvo coastal path begins at the car park at Paxariñas Beach. This car park marks the start of the path and connects the coastal section with a clearly named starting point.
At the other end, the Paxariñas–Montalvo coastal path ends in the recreation area of Montalvo. The path therefore establishes a clearly defined route between the car park at Paxariñas Beach and the recreation area of Montalvo.
The named features of the path’s landscape therefore include both the mouth of the Ría de Pontevedra and the coastline between Paxariñas and Montalvo. The route remains spatially comprehensible through its starting point and endpoint.
The route thus runs from the car park at Paxariñas Beach to the recreation area of Montalvo. In between, the coastline, with views of the mouth of the Ría de Pontevedra, remains a defining feature of the path.
Viewpoints
Punta Paxariñas is a point of interest on the Paxariñas–Montalvo coastal path. The Mirador de Paxariñas viewpoint is located on this headland. Its position between Paxariñas Beach and Montalvo Beach places the viewpoint within the course of the coastal section.
From the Mirador de Paxariñas, the Cíes Islands can be seen on clear days. Visibility is explicitly dependent on clear days; the islands are therefore part of the viewpoint’s described panorama, not a view that is available without time-related restrictions.
The Mirador de Paxariñas viewpoint is easily accessible from both beaches. It can therefore be reached from both Paxariñas Beach and Montalvo Beach. Together with its location on Punta Paxariñas, this accessibility constitutes another specific feature of the viewpoint.
Its location between the two beaches connects the Mirador with the coastal path and Punta Paxariñas. On clear days, its view extends as far as the Cíes Islands, while access is possible from both of the aforementioned beaches.
If you would like to discover other places in addition to Paxariñas, on this page you will find Soutelo, Vilagarcia De Arousa, Meis, Camposancos, Marín, O Morrazo, Crecente and San Bieito.
