Culture and History

Barrio del Arrabal is located in Oia and comprises narrow streets. Small squares are also part of this neighbourhood. The Barrio includes traditional houses with patín.

On its section through Oia, the Camiño Portugués Da Costa always runs close to the sea. Along this section, it offers views of the Atlantic. The path passes numerous cultural and natural attractions in the municipality.

The RUTA CIRCULAR SENDEIROS DA VALGA is a route measuring 16.1 km in length. It runs through forests and along streams. From the route, there are views of the mouth of the Río Miño as it flows into the Atlantic.

The RUTA DOS MUÍÑOS DA VALGA runs along the Río da Cal. Several old mills are located along its route.

The paths connect different landscapes: The Camiño Portugués Da Costa remains close to the sea and offers views of the Atlantic. The RUTA CIRCULAR SENDEIROS DA VALGA, by contrast, runs through forests and along streams, while the RUTA DOS MUÍÑOS DA VALGA incorporates the Río da Cal and several old mills.

Nature and Coast

At Salina de Aguncheiro, a basin is currently visible. The basin has paving made of granite stones. Its boundary walls consist of thin stone slabs. These slabs are set vertically.

At low tide, sand and pebbles become visible at Playa de Santa María de Oia. They lie between the rocks.
