Water and adventure

The Noguera Pallaresa features a 14-kilometre rafting section connecting Llavorsí and Rialp. White-water descents are offered as part of the rafting activities. They take place in an inflatable raft for up to eight people. The horse-riding activities offered by Rafting Llavorsí include rides lasting one or two hours. The Rafting Llavorsí adventure park features zip lines, a climbing wall and Tibetan bridges. This means that different forms of active pursuits are available in one place: a descent on the river, horse rides with a clearly specified duration and a park with several named features. The Noguera Pallaresa provides the setting for water sports, while the horse-riding activities and adventure park are separate offerings from Rafting Llavorsí.

Landscape and paths

The Noguera Pallaresa Valley lies in the Llavorsí–Montenartró section of the Massís de l’Orri. The valley lies between Llavorsí and Rialp. The «Volta als camps d’Arnui» circular walk starts from Llavorsí. It follows the old path that connected Llavorsí with the Borden of Arnui. Llavorsí is listed as one of the access points to the Pallars Sobirà area of the Alt Pirineu Natural Park. The landscape thus combines the valley between two towns with a named circular route and an old path connecting it to the Borden of Arnui. The reference to the natural park and the location in the Massís de l’Orri place these facts about the paths and landscape within the local setting.

Nature

The Área de Biuse recreational area is located in Llavorsí. It has three picnic tables. There are also two barbecue areas. A spring is also part of the recreational area. An information board completes the facilities. The facilities at Área de Biuse therefore include seating for a picnic, barbecue facilities, a spring and an information board. All these components belong to the recreational area in Llavorsí.

Culture

The apse and crypt are preserved from the Romanesque construction phase of Sant Serni de Baiasca church. Guided visits to the Romanesque church of Sant Serni de Baiasca are organised by prior reservation. They take place on Sunday mornings and Thursday afternoons. The Pirineu Pastor Festival honours shepherding culture. It also honours extensive livestock farming. The festival also recognises the important role of shepherds in preserving the Pyrenean landscapes. With its apse and crypt, the church contributes preserved architectural elements from its Romanesque construction phase to the cultural heritage. At Pirineu Pastor, shepherding culture, extensive livestock farming and the role of shepherds in preserving the Pyrenean landscapes are all central themes.

Festivals

The Aplec de Biuse takes place on the second weekend of May. After Mass, all participants receive a quarter-kilogram loaf of bread. The pilgrims prepare their lunch in the meadows or bring it from home for the occasion. The Festa Major de Llavorsí is celebrated on 26 July. It is held in honour of the patron saint Santa Anna. It includes activities and dances for all age groups. The Concurs de Gossos d’Atura brings together the best Catalan sheepdogs. It takes place on the Sunday of the third weekend in August. The venue is Prat de la Coma. The festival calendar therefore runs from the Aplec de Biuse in May, through the Festa Major in July, to the Concurs de Gossos d’Atura in August. Each event preserves its own customs: bread after Mass, sharing lunch in the meadows, dances and activities in honour of Santa Anna, and the gathering of Catalan sheepdogs at Prat de la Coma.
