Discover Salt: Culture, Nature and Holiday Apartments

Culture

The cultural programme at the Teatre de Salt includes music, dance, circus and family theatre performances.

The Escuela de Circo La Guixera offers circus activities for children, young people and non-professional adults.

The Fira Internacional del Cistell de Salt brings basket makers from the Catalan Countries, other parts of Spain, other European countries and South America to Salt.

Every year, Salt organises the Feria Internacional del Cesto in the heart of its old town.

Salt has a theatre tradition and is associated with the Temporada Alta festival.

Salt therefore brings together different cultural forms: the theatre programme ranges from music and dance to circus and family theatre, while the Escuela de Circo La Guixera offers its own activities for several age groups. The international basket-making fair complements these stage and circus offerings with a craft whose participants come from the Catalan Countries, Spain, Europe and South America.

Nature and Paths

Les Deveses de Salt is a natural area of high ecological value that is suitable for walks in nature.

The Ruta del Ter can be travelled on foot or by bicycle; its section in Gironès passes through Salt and connects with the Carrilet Greenway.

The Les Deveses i les hortes route runs between Salt and Girona along the banks of the Ter, through the landscapes of the vegetable gardens and the Deveses.

This route partly follows the Carrilet Greenway between Olot and Girona.

Thus, the landscape of Salt brings together natural areas and route connections: Les Deveses and the vegetable gardens characterise the section along the Ter, while the Ruta del Ter and the Carrilet Greenway provide connections towards Girona and between Olot and Girona.
