Les Pereres lies on the Segre in the plain. The river and the flat landscape provide the natural setting for trails, architectural history, a museum in the surrounding area, mountains and peaks, as well as the Festa Major in December. In Les Pereres, the Segre and the plain come together with Sant Esteve de les Pereres, the Ruta Segre, the mountains and peaks, and the Festa Major for Sant Esteve. The watercourse and the plain stand alongside trails, Sant Esteve de les Pereres, and the mountains and peaks.

Hiking

The Ruta Segre is an easy route covering 8 km with an estimated duration of 2 hours. As a circular hiking trail, the Ruta Romànic is laid out differently and represents another specific type of trail. On Route 5, the VIA ROMANICA also leads through the Barony of Urtx to Sant Esteve de les Pereres. Thus, an easy route covering 8 km with an estimated duration of 2 hours, a circular hiking trail, and the VIA ROMANICA on Route 5 through the Barony of Urtx all come together in one place.

History

Sant Esteve de les Pereres originated between the 11th and 12th centuries. In the 18th century, the building was extensively remodelled, supported and reinforced, and extended with two side chapels. Because these chapels are located in the middle of the nave, the floor plan forms a Greek cross. The last restoration work on Sant Esteve de les Pereres was completed in 2008. The chapel therefore combines a medieval origin, the major renovations of the 18th century, and a completed restoration phase.

Culture and Events

The Museu Municipal De Llívia, a museum, is located in the surrounding area of Les Pereres. In December, Les Pereres celebrates the Festa Major for Sant Esteve. Sant Esteve de les Pereres, the Museu Municipal De Llívia and the Festa Major for Sant Esteve represent a building, a museum and a festival. Each of these—a building, a museum and a festival—makes its own contribution within the village and its immediate surroundings.

Landscape

Montaña de Alp, a mountain, is located in the surrounding area of Les Pereres. Also in the surrounding area are la Tosa, a mountain, as well as Puig d'Estaques and Puig de Llívia, both peaks. The surrounding area of Les Pereres therefore contains two mountains and two peaks alongside the river and the plain. Montaña de Alp and la Tosa stand as mountains alongside the peaks Puig d'Estaques and Puig de Llívia. Together with the river landscape, a flat plain, mountains and peaks are found side by side here.
