A challenging circular hike to the Refugi de la Pleta de Das is 7.8 kilometres long, climbs 590 metres in elevation and takes three hours; it follows a circular route.

From the centre of Das, the Passeig de la Torreta leads to the cemetery; after about 125 metres, the Torre de Das is on the route, and the viewpoint is located about 50 metres farther on.

The path from Das to the Torre de Das has a paved or prepared walkway, a panoramic table, a spring and benches.

The path to the viewpoint of the Torre de Das has been adapted for people with reduced mobility.

From the Torre de Das, the view extends north across the Cerdanya plain, with its characteristic pasture mosaic divided by deciduous trees, to the Puigpedrós and Carlit mountains on the Solana de la Cerdanya.

The route from Das via the GI-400, the GI-404 and the road to Coma Oriola is 9.6 kilometres long, has an elevation gain of 727 metres, an average gradient of 7.6 per cent and a maximum gradient of 11.0 per cent.

The Aeròdrom de Cerdanya is located between Das and Fontanals de Cerdanya in the municipalities of Das and Fontanals; almost the entire facility is within the municipality of Das.

Fly Cerdanya offers paramotor and paragliding flights at the Aeròdrom de la Cerdanya meeting point in Das.

Culture and History

The Col·lecció museu de Das is located in the Casa del Comú de Das.

Sant Iscle i Santa Victòria de Sanavastre is a Romanesque church in the village of Sanavastre, in the municipality of Das in Cerdanya, and is protected as a local cultural asset of special interest.

Sant Julià de Tartera is no longer used for religious services and belongs to the private Ca l’Alier estate.

Sant Llorenç de Das has been documented as a parish since 1011; the present church is a Neo-Gothic building with a Latin-cross floor plan and a polygonal apse.

The southern arched panel of the western bell gable of Santa Maria de Mosoll bears the year 1710 carved into it.

The chapel of Santa Bàrbara de Das was built in 1902; Santa Bàrbara is the patron saint of miners.

Santa Maria de Mosoll preserves Romanesque openings, including a southern portal with a round arch and double-splayed windows.

Santa Bàrbara de Das is located beside the old road from Das to La Valira and Urús.

Nature

The Bassa de Sanavastre is a disused former lignite open-pit mine; groundwater seepage has permanently flooded it, and it covers slightly more than two hectares.

The European bee-eater breeds on sandy embankments, including those at the Bassa de Sanavastre.

Festivals

The Festa Major de Das is scheduled for 9, 10 and 11 August in honour of Sant Llorenç.

The Festa Major de Sanavastre is scheduled for the third weekend of September.

The Festa Major de Mosoll is scheduled for 15 August in honour of Santa Maria.

The festival at Sant Julià de Tartera is scheduled for 2 August in honour of the Mare de Déu dels Àngels.
