The Cementiri d'Arenys de Mar is one of the two particularly prominent cultural assets of national interest in Arenys de Mar.

Culture

The Edifici Xifré was built between 1844 and 1846 as a hospital for the poor; the mausoleum of Josep Xifré i Casas has been preserved inside.

Since 2009, Platja del Cavaió has included nature-oriented areas, restored outlets of the Rials and protected sandy areas for the development of coastal flora and fauna.

At Platja de la Picòrdia, an ecological and landscape restoration programme has been underway since 2009; a tree-lined promenade was created behind the beach, and the outlets of the Rial del Bareu and the Riera were restored.

Port d'Arenys de Mar is both a fishing port and a marina.

Water Sports

Club Nàutic Arenys de Mar offers the public water sports activities such as kayaking, catamaran sailing, paddleboarding, sailing, diving and windsurfing.

Base Nàutica d'Arenys de Mar offers sessions and courses for various water sports, as well as the rental of sea kayaks and SUP boards.

Local Life

Calamarenys is a gastronomic and cultural event centred around squid as a local symbol and has a history spanning around three decades.

At Llotja Arenys de Mar, visitors can independently observe the fish auction on weekdays at around 4 p.m.

Getting There and Tours

Arenys de Mar is connected by the R-1 Rodalies railway line; the journey to Plaça de Catalunya takes 50 minutes.
